Workshop Description
Learn about how recovery community centers are expanding across Maine, how Center’s serve the members as well as their communities and how bringing multiple pathways to recovery together in one space is beneficial to everyone. You will hear from staff and a panel of members with lived experience the importance of these centers and finding a community to belong to.

Presenters
Matt Brown
is a retired law enforcement officer, who is currently the volunteer coordinator and a recovery coach at the Portland Recovery Community Center. He is also a per diem Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor at Milestone Recovery detox. For several years prior, he was the statewide CIT (Crisis Intervention Training) director for NAMI-Maine. He is also a person in recovery. Including a panel of lived experience speakers.

Nicole Proctor is the Project Manager of the Maine Recovery Hub at Portland Recovery Community Center. PRCC serves as the hub for a statewide network of recovery community centers in Maine. Nicole identifies as a person in recovery from substance use disorder and has a passion to help expand recovery ready communities and resources statewide.
