As Executive Director of the CCSME, Kate Chichester has led CCSME for the past 25 years, during which time it has been recognized both statewide and nationally for its work to advance co-occurring mental health and substance use integration. Kate has written, directed, and participated in multiple grant-funded projects spanning the areas of behavioral health, integrated health care, criminal justice and evidence-based practices. She is an adjunct faculty at USM and UMA and has provided training and technical assistance across Maine and nationally. Ms. Chichester is an advanced practice nurse with certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing and holds a Master’s degree in Nursing Administration from Georgetown University. Until recently she maintained her clinical skills working in admissions at a local psychiatric hospital.
