With exponential growth of peer recovery support services and new peer service roles, collaborative approaches and attitudes are more important than ever for the effectiveness of care teams and the positive health outcomes of patients and clients. This training program counts as 1 continuing education unit toward certification in Intentional Peer Support Specialist. Participants in this one day program will be able to:

  • Classify the various Peer Models used in Maine and clarify how these types differ from traditional service models
  • Discuss approaches for clear communication, understanding, and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams
  • Discuss ethics for Recovery Coaches and Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialists
  • Identify various job descriptions
