Art and Music to Process Trauma

Art and music are noninvasive, safe mediums through which to explore difficult emotions and traumatic experiences. In this session, we will explore various ways of using art and music to help clients dealing with trauma, and hear case studies from clients who have benefited from this work. Attendees will leave with a new level of comfort in using art and music to address trauma with their clients. No artistic or musical experience needed! 


Kate Beever, MA, MT-BC, originally from Gorham, Maine, studied at the USM School of Music and then worked for Frank Glazer before moving to New York City. She is now a Board Certified Music Therapist with a Master’s degree in Music Psychotherapy from New York University. read more…

Bodhi Simpson, LCPC, ATR, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maine and a Registered Art Therapist with the Art Therapy Credentialing Board. She earned her graduate degree in Clinical Art Therapy at Springfield College. read more…
