CCSME Expressive Tools Series | Developmental and Learning Disabilities 


Art therapy is a gentle, direct, and non-threatening clinical intervention that aims to empower individuals living with disabilities. Art therapy interventions are client-based and support individuals in identifying and communicating emotions, increasing creative problem-solving, and in discovering their strengths. 

Music therapy is a safe, effective integrative treatment used to address the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional goals of clients of all ages. This part of the day will help caregivers and professionals learn how they can incorporate the concepts of music therapy into their clients’ daily lives.

Bodhi Simpson

Bodhi Simpson, LCPC, ATR, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maine and a Registered Art Therapist with the Art Therapy Credentialing Board. She earned her graduate degree in Clinical Art Therapy at Springfield College. She currently serves as the President of the Maine Mental Health Counselors Association.
