An exploration of trauma and domestic violence in the LGBT community, participants will explore case studies to apply and develop skills in screening, assessing, and referring clients who face domestic and intimate partner violence. Dr. O’Brien will review relevant terms and examine issues, such as substance use disorder and adverse childhood experiences, encountered by the LGBT community.

John O’Brien, PhD received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University.  He is currently in full time private practice in Portland, specializing in substance abuse, grief, trauma and gay/lesbian issues. Read more…
