Restorative Justice Institute of Maine

The Restorative Justice Institute was founded in 2011 to engage individuals and organizations in expanding restorative practices from existing efforts currently underway and foster their growth throughout communities across the state.
The mission is to promote a widespread cultural and systemic shift to how Mainers approach wrongdoing by advancing the use of restorative justice in communities, schools and correctional settings across the state.
Through public education, training, research, advocacy and by supporting the development of local restorative justice initiatives, RJIM aims to forward a movement that builds safer and more peaceful communities from which we all benefit.
RJIM is a private non-profit agency and is funded through grants from the State of Maine, local and statewide foundations, fee for service activities and through the generous support of donors.
